Leadership Case Problem A
1. Jimmy Banger portrayed assertiveness, enthusiasm, management skills, self-confidence, trust, good judgment, courage, and motivation when being a manager.
2. The employee feedback statements clearly depict Jimmy as a manager with energy, eagerness, and ability to learn new things. Another guy declared Jimmy was a good leader and he was liked by many.
3. Jimmy should leave the past Navy mentality behind him and manage the crew by necessary means. He is doing a great job with trying to create a better solution for the business, but being too pushy on team members can have a negative effect. He should listen to the crew more and have better relationships with them.
4. I am for the company hiring military because more people leave the forces with great leadership qualities, abilities to listen, be helpful, and obey commands. They have an advantage over the common folk, due to extensive training and service time. Why would you not be bias for hiring someone highly trained?
Leadership Case Problem A
1. Tim's effectiveness in inspiring and motivating others can be improved. He did not really personally create a bond with his sales people and he was even let down by the number of responses. Social media is not the best solution for trying to motivate employees, I would say face to face interaction and encouragement would have been a better solution.
2. Tim's effectiveness in inspiring his team to sell more parts was not successful. In his postings, he did not say anything about increasing sales or a way to go about doing so. He clearly just put uplifting sentences to make an employee smile not necessarily increase sales.
3.I think the best solution would be for Tim to post videos of uplifting messages and ways to increase sales to social media. The sales person needs more ideas, information, and guidance to increase sales and get the business being more successful. I am for an uplifting leader, but also one willing to teach others how to be more successful.
